I recently had the privilege of participating in the Stronger Together Juneteenth art show, curated by the talented LaSaundra Robinson. When LaSaundra first invited me to contribute, I was excited to offer my painting "Power To The People." This piece, featuring a variety of fists in different shades against a red, black, and green background, powerfully symbolizes unity and strength—perfectly aligning with the Juneteenth celebration. However, as the event drew nearer, I was thrilled to learn that there was space for an additional piece. I decided to bring "The Graduate," a painting of my friend Erin Corbett in graduation attire, standing before a kente cloth. Originally featuring blue and black robes, I adjusted the colors to red, black, and green to honor the significance of Juneteenth.

Delivering "The Graduate" to LaSaundra provided me with a unique opportunity to preview the show before it opened to the public. This quiet moment allowed me to appreciate the incredible collection of artworks without any interruptions. The exhibition showcased works from a diverse group of artists, many of whom I have admired and collaborated with in the past. Seeing their creations up close and in such an intimate setting was an inspiring experience.

LaSaundra's curation of the Stronger Together Juneteenth art show was nothing short of remarkable. The event brought together a vibrant mix of talent, celebrating the essence of Juneteenth through powerful visual narratives. Each piece resonated with the themes of freedom, resilience, and community, creating a cohesive and impactful exhibition. I was deeply moved by the artistic expressions on display and felt honored to be part of such an important celebration.

Looking ahead, I eagerly anticipate more events curated by LaSaundra Robinson. Her ability to bring together diverse voices and perspectives through art is truly commendable. The Stronger Together Juneteenth art show was a testament to the power of art in fostering connection and understanding. I am excited to see more work from LaSaundra and the other artists featured in this incredible show.
